Shopping Centre or Shopping Mall (s) can run huge cooling and lighting costs. It is important to bring down these operational costs without affecting customer comfort. Another big issue is differential temperature throughout the mall and inefficient cooling during peak hours.
Our client Al Asmakh Mall at Qatar was facing these cooling issues for the past few years.
The mall management observed inefficient and uneven cooling in various areas of the shopping mall and uncomfortable high temperature in basement parking area. Several complaints of high and uncomfortable temperature were also reported by the retail staff and mall visitors. Additional capacity of 220TR has been added in retail areas using split units to address rising temperatures.
This problem has been persistent since the past few years. This has resulted in reduced occupant comfort and a steady increase in Electricity and CHW bills.
